Reedbed chatter like running water
Hawks wait
Waves of birds stir and shuffle
Black tide creeps forward
Lift off roars
Explosions of starlings blacken the sky
Streaming overhead twisting on the wind
Followed by a curtain of silence
Tranquillity restored
